Brad Tanenbaum

Brad Tanenbaum is a producer/director with a genuine love of storytelling. This season he will direct multiple hours of television including a return to “HAWAII FIVE-0,” as well as episodes of “MACGYVER” and “LUCIFER.” Considering himself an actor’s director, Brad has worked with an impressive list of talent including William Petersen, Laurence Fishburne, Ted Danson, Marg Helgenberger, Bella Thorne, David Lyons, Phillip Winchester, Joel Gray, Elisabeth Shue, Wesley Snipes and Patricia Arquette.

His television credits include 25 episodes of “CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION,” where he was an in-house Co-Producer/Director and one of the only crew members to stay through the entire run of the ground-breaking series. Since then, Brad has gone on to direct multiple episodes of “HAWAII FIVE-0,” “THE PLAYER,” “GAME OF SILENCE” and “CSI: CYBER.” In addition, he has directed second unit for legendary directors such as Quentin Tarantino and William Friedkin.

Brad started at “CSI” overseeing second unit photography and moved up to Producer within the first season where he oversaw VFX, as well as directing the signature, ‘feature television’ CSI shots. These visuals, such as following a bullet’s slow, mesmerizing trajectory and explosive nature ripping through an apple or the brain, were a new storytelling element to the television medium at the time. But even more crucial, Brad was instrumental in managing its affordability and quality on a television schedule and budget. In 2010, Brad and his team earned an Emmy award for best VFX for a three and a half minute scene of 25 actors frozen in time.

A native of Southern California, Brad graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in the Public Administration and got his first break as a Production Assistant on Aaron Sorkin’s “SPORTS NIGHT.”
